In modern manufacturing, everything is done in a single machine
In PVC window and door manufacturing plants, balancing speed, quality, and labor costs is a constant source of competitive advantage for manufacturers. The SC-223 PVC Profile Processing Center offers manufacturers a new paradigm in this regard: the capacity to perform all profile processing on a single machine. Throughout this article, we will conduct a comprehensive examination of this system from its background, technical details, impact on production processes, and potential for transformation in plants.
1. Transformation in Industrial Production
Processing on PVC profiles is traditionally carried out on different machines:
- Cutting machines
- Milling centers
- Drainage channel opening machines
- Drilling and screwing stations
These machines usually operate independently, are managed by different operators, and require separate time scheduling for each. In this approach, delays in the workflow, increased labor costs, and quality differences are inevitable.
The SC-223 integrates these processes into a single central machine and synchronizes them with computer control. This allows operators who previously worked at 3-4 separate stations to produce at a higher speed from a single integrated center. Significant improvements are achieved in both production speed and quality standards.
2. SC-223 Architecture
2.1. Computer-Controlled Production
At the heart of the SC-223 is a high-performance industrial PC based on Windows 10. This system is designed to operate between 0°C and 55°C without a fan and manages production through a single interface. Multiple processors and control lines coordinate operations such as cutting, milling, drilling, and marking simultaneously and independently.
The operating system also has the ability to monitor, record, and report production data on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. This feature is critical for optimizing production planning and evaluating capacity utilization at the script level.
2.2. Servo Motor Controlled Stations
The servo motors in the SC-223 enable the positioning of profiles with 0.1 mm accuracy in both horizontal and vertical axes. This system is particularly important for the automatic execution of angled cuts (between 30° and 150°) on profiles. Furthermore, the servo-controlled system allows the machine to dynamically adapt to different profile designs and dimensions.
3. Production Processes with SC-223
3.1. Profile Loading and Positioning
The SC-223 stacks PVC profiles up to 7000 mm in length, 10 at a time, on the loading belt. This increases operational efficiency and reduces worker intervention. Profiles placed on the loading belt are automatically measured, positioned, and transferred to the production line thanks to the servo motor-controlled gripping system.
3.2. Cutting and Milling Operations
The 600 mm diameter saw on the machine can perform high-precision cuts at angles between 30° and 150° thanks to servo motors. Cutting and milling operations are performed on the profile with minimum tolerances while the axes operate at high speed.
The milling group, with two 8-axis tools, can process all indices on the profile simultaneously. Thanks to this approach:
- Water drainage channels
- Mirror, barrel and handle housings in door profiles
- Other special milling operations
can be completed quickly and precisely in the same cycle.
3.3. Barcode and Traceability
The SC-223 comes with an integrated barcode printer system along the production line. Barcodes to be affixed to the profiles after cutting are instantly printed by the machine and applied to the profiles by the operator. These barcodes can be read by CNC welding and edge finishing machines in later stages of production, thus ensuring complete traceability throughout the production line.
This traceability system directly impacts operational functions such as quality control, inventory management and order tracking; it also minimizes the production error rate.
4. Operator Experience and User Interface
The SC-223's user-friendly interface gives manufacturers real-time control via a 15-inch touchscreen. Thanks to its 3D visualization feature, profiles to be milled and cut can be viewed.
